An Ode to Groundhogs (1999)

Grazing placidly on the lawn

Relaxing in the sun,

O groundhog, you are an inspiration,

Unique in your quiet grace.

Notice often rushes past;

Day two of February alone attends.

How would it be, if chasing a whim,

Occasional passersby would stop to

Greet your dark brown form,

Sweetly munching?
